Urm How did you do it? If you could help me with this because i am trying to merge a picture of a face into a tree for my graphics project.
I'm relatively skilled in photoshop however not hardcore! lol.

The scene i am doing is of a tree face pouting, ready to kiss.

Could you help? i would SO appreciate it.

In fact, I can actually see so many little details I messed up on in this image I think you may have inspired me to redo it... I made this 2 years ago and I am much more proficient at photoshop now than I was back then and I think i could actually do it better..
I will put a tutorial up in my scraps as I make it... I may not get around to it for a few days so until then just try going off of what I said in my previous post.

Sure... if you look in my scraps you will find the statue I got the face from. The First important step is getting the direction right... You want the face to be lined up with the tree...

Next, select just the face from the face source image...
Paste it onto the tree, use a mixture of the eraser tool set to about 20% transparency with a splotchy brush and click repeatedly to sort of "fade away the edges" ... this way you cannot tell where one image ends and the other begins.

Then I used "Ctrl U" to get the color of the statue face as close to the color of the bark as I could and then used "Layer options" Where it says normal, ... I selected through those until some of the tree texture was showing through the statue face...

I dont know that helps... if you want more detail and when I have more time I can put a step by step guide into my scraps showing different stages along the way so you can visualize what im trying to convey.

have you msn? Personally it's on a needtodo basis if you follow my drift.

I can show you what i've done and maybe you can help me. I will try your technique as well.
My final result Must look professional and impressive otherwise i will scrap the idea.

Lol (perfectionist)

If you can tell that the face has been edited, then its just not what i need.

so if you Could give me your msn and we could talk this over much more efficiently that would be nice.

But if you want to simply talk about it on deviant then thats fine. longer replies though lol.

I am practicing on two stock images from deviantart (one is a face {SIDE VIEW} with like pouted lips and the other is a tree)

The target of my poster is to have a girl kissing a tree (my designated theme is rural vs urban OR rural WITH urban, in this case i want them working together {IN LOVE}) The tree must have a face.

Get the idea yet?

On thursday my model will arrive for the photoshoot and i will get that over and done with and tomorrow morning i will get my autumn leaved tree picture.

LOL so all i am doing at the moment is practicing.

but as you can see its quite a big project and your full cooperation would be SO helpful!

p.s. i have to write WHO influenced me to choose that idea. you will be on my work!!! Lol

Ok, I have an msn but I never use it, so meeting up would be a bit of a hassle... I am going to do a step by step, picture by picture update in my scarps as I make a new copy of my original work. I will leave detailed isntructions of what I am doing in the description of each image so you can see what I am talking about and the changes what I am doing does to the picture. It is not too complicated, and Like I said, I managed to produce "The Face" as a mere practice when I was learnign photoshop... I am a bit more refined now and hopefully I can pass along some helpfull tips.

Pain is sometimes hardest to deal with when the other person does not know they are inflicting it. You ive them so much and they mean so much to you, but they cannot give you what you most want....is it better to stick with it, or let them move on...ah well, we're only here once right...
